Welcome to the Tall Ships Diaries

Dame Ellen MacArthur
On behalf of the Tall Ships Diaries, may I take this opportunity to welcome you to Falmouth, home of the Tall Ships Regatta, September 10-13, 2008.

The town, and particularly the marina, holds many memories for me as I was welcomed by such a great reception after my around the World B&Q voyage in 2005.

This web site has been put together by journalism students from the University College of Falmouth. It will introduce you to the many boats participating in this year’s race and explore the history of this fascinating event. You can also find out more about the town of Falmouth and its maritime history.

As the race begins, log on to www.tallshipsdiaries.com for daily reports from students competing in this years challenge. They will provide updates of their experiences from this exciting event.
